    Writer's Block: Mobile etiquette

Do you get offended if someone repeatedly checks their mobile phone when you're out for lunch or dinner? If so, do you usually say something?

I do think it's impolite, you wouldn't look elsewhere whilst someone is talking to you so just because they're looking at a phone doesn't make it okay. Most inclined to say something like "Oh I didn't hear that go off" or some such to challenge it without being so direct.

Usually if people are expecting an urgent message they'll tell you so.

    Writer's Block: Raincheck!

If your best friend forgave his or her partner for cheating and lying, would you try to forgive him or her too? Would you find it difficult to spend time with them as a couple?

    View 575 Answers

I have already had to face this, and no I don't speak to him though I do still speak to my friend. I won't forgive mostly because it wasn't a one off and I don't think he wants to change his ways. I am angry at my friend for being so stupid and staying with him for the 1 good day a month they might have together, but it isn't my place to tell her what to do.

Writer's Block: Confessions of a couch potato

What is the longest uninterrupted period of time you've ever watched TV? Were you alone or with a friend/partner? Do you tend to watch more TV when you're happy, depressed, or simply bored?

    View 719 Answers

I used to quite happily go spend a morning watching awful daytime TV from 8am until 7pm, grabbing a snack now and then. However in terms of fully paying attention it was when I and a group of chums watched all 3 Extended LOTR films, though that won't count as T.V

Generally if I'm watching T.V for an extended amount of time it's because I'm alone and with nothing better to do. As a child 3 hours of television was wonderful, now it's rare I'd find something for that period of time to watch.

What's the weirdest thing you've ever eaten? Would you eat it again?

    Writer's Block: Comfort Food

When times are tough or you're feeling down, what's the one food you can count on to make you feel better?

    View 505 Answers

When I'm really feeling down I don't have appetite for very much at all, but I can always count on dark chocolate Digestives or sometimes Lemon Cake. Used to be Pringles but I no longer like them.

Writer's Block: Where your memories began.

What is your earliest memory of your life?

    View 501 Answers

I think my earliest memory is falling in a pool when I was little and having to be hoiked out with one arm by my grandfather. I remember it was an indoor pool in a glass shed and it was early morning. I was only under for a few seconds but I felt like I was down there for hours.

A University degree is worth jack unless you have years experience, and as no-one will take me on to gain experience I am somewhat stuck. I always knew media would be difficult to get into, but currently, I can't get any work.

    Quite Like It
The days that follow Christmas always feel so odd. You spend weeks building up to one day and then once its gone there's no knowing what to do with yourself until New Years Eve. Its like its still holiday time but it feels like there is no reason for it.

    One Potter Review
You could tell right from the start of the film it was going to be different from the others, the tales of it being darker came through, not only in the story but in the visuals themselves.

The humour is there, and in my opinion very well placed and enough to keep the audience from falling into depression. Ron again provides most of this humour, as well as the quick one liner and ironic looks.

Perhaps one of the greatest flaws of this film is how rushed everything feels. By trying to avoid that dragging feeling that came about for some people in the fourth film, some of the films greatest actors are forgotten. McGonnagal and Snape may as well have not been there at all for all the screen time they have, and the new character of Tonks isn't explained deeply enough for anyone to find much importance in her.

Another fault will mostly be seen ny those who know this book well. The moment where Professor Trelawny is nearly kicked out looses its importance as it is never explained it is she who spoke the prophecy that is so important to Harry and Voldemort.

Although the big actors may not have much screen time, Umbridge proves to be some more fantastic casting. Her mannerisms and slightly psychotic air really present her evil ways well without being overacted. The same can be said for Luna Lovegood who could have easily been portrayed as very "loony" but the actress takes to the role naturally and as such, Luna seems natural.

This film will probably be lost on its younger audience, but in the same way is grown as adult as the books have. In terms of grahpics it is stunning, but some creatures such as Grawp need more air time for the viewer to appreciate the work gone into them.

    Change
So, once again I've changed my mind on what I want to do in life. After graduating with a lower BA than I wanted I lost hope slightly. One area I was good in was my analysis of films and television. So now...I want to be a critic.

    BBC jobbing
I suppose I shouldn't expect to get into the BBC too soon, but it would be nice if they could send me a rejection if they don't want me. The position applied for has been one of the only ones that didn't require years of experience. Still, there's still time before I completely lose hope. Fingers crossed I'll become a researcher....at some point in my life.
